Black Dragon

It was under autumnal sky
When we met, you and I
It was dark when we met
With your claws out set
And I behind metal shield
Yet my advances would not yield
Under darkest sky you laid a plan
To bend my will where you can
So that I would heed my thoughts
Act in ways I knew I naught
Your logic broke right
A mind wounded took flight
A dragons reign fell into place
While I yielded to a quieter space

T’was you, brought me to this place
My honor in question and disgrace
Had you dragon, black as night
Not from shadow taken flight
Then peace I may have known
In my age old I would’ve grown
In rage my world you destroy
Thoughts my own I did same toy

But Here we face each other again
Both smiling a wicked grin
Each knowing the land so small
That ultimately one must fall
Weakness I know how to hit
You parry my thrust with matched wit

With wings thrice my height
And Scarlet burning eyes bright
I should cower and fear demise
But that will not be your prize
I have sought magical protection
Your flames will be met with deflection

I shall stand against you mighty beast
I call out, here no more you feast
Though I be alone at first
Others are summoned by my outburst
Where once I walked alone
Friends I made while I atone
Weak though I may be
I have strength when they stand with me
